It would be great if speed and course could be filtered (averaged) over time. Many BT GPSs are so accurate the speed and course jump around and they don't have built in averaging. The setting could be taken from OpenCPN "Filter NMEA Course and Speed Data" settings or it could have a Dashboard specific setting.

Sounds like a bad idea. (again). If you need decent readings, get yourself a decent GPS. One suitable for navigation and not some cheap-ass toy thingy.

Software should be 100% transparent, at all cost. What you see is what your device sends.

I would also like to have the possibility to filter the SOG value. I do not know if the fluctuation of the SOG value is depending on GPS bad accuracy, good GPS accuracy in combination with the boat dancing on the waves or the fact that I use OCPN far away from the equator, but the SOG value vary a lot.
